SUBJECT: Information on the Soviet Conscription and
Reserve Systems
1. It is requested that this office be furnished with materials
as follows regarding the topics listed in paragraph 2 below:
a. Copies of any ID studies presently available.
b. A list of the more substantial intelligence reports.
c. A list of Soviet-published official and unofficial
references concerning only the procedures cited.
d. A list of pertinent individual, personal documents
available in your office.
2. Topics of immediate interest are:
a. List of age-classes called up and demobilized in each
of the last fifteen years.
b. Policies and procedures in the re istration aninormal
call-up of conscription classes.
c. Policies and procedures relati to exem Lions aid
deferments.
d. Policies and procedures in the administrati:_.n of
reserve personnel, especially as these affect the
individual reservist.
