On 23 July 2008, we received your 22 July 2008 letter, inquiring about the status of
your 6 December 2007 Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request.
We can appreciate your concern with not having received a final response to your
request. Please be assured that it is the overwhelming number of requests and their
complexity that causes delays in our responses. At the present, our workload comprises
thousands of FOIA, Privacy Act, and Executive Order requests, and it is our policy to
handle each on a first-in, first-out basis that is the most equitable to all requesters. Again,
we regret that we are unable to give you a definite date for completion and ask for your
continued cooperation.
