Miss Peggy Murphy, Administrative Assistant to Representative Bertram Podell (D. , N, ~. ); called on behalf of a peraanal friend of the Congressman who wanted to pass information to the Government, presumably while he is temporarily abroad. Based on the fragmentary information known to Miss-Murphy and a discussion with Mr. Roth, DDP, I recommended to Miss Murphy that she get in touch with on the Czech desk, Department- of State, and to contact us again if this did not suffice (apparently a U. S. citizen friend of the. Congressman who specializes in arthritic medicine is supplying information relating to a 2. Messrs. Woodruff, Braswell, and Preston of the Agency subcommittee staffs spent the moaning at Headquarters where they were briefed by the Director and Chief, FE Division on the situation in Southeast Asia and discussed with other Agency officers the. effect of the Fulbright amendment on Agency projects, in that area. See Memorandum for the Record. 3. Al Tarabochia, Senate Internal Security ,Subcommittee staff, called a.nd asked if we could identify a publication titled "Directory of Personalities of the Cuban Government. Official Organizations and Mass Organizations.'' dated June 1970. Mr. Tarabochia indicated that it was his understanding that the book is unclassified. If available they would very much appreciate a copy for private use of the Subcommittee staff. Office of DDI has been advised. 4. Talked to DC/WH, who gave me a general defensive briefing on present conditions in Chile for-use in briefing Mr:. Garner J. Cline, Counsel, House Judiciary Committee, Who will be traveling this week to Chile vyith members of the Committee.
