February 1, 2010 APPROVED FOR RELEASE^ DATE: 06-16-2010 Mr. Kel McClanahan Executive Director National Security Counselors 1200 South Courthouse Road, Suite 124 Arlington, VA 22204 We received your 25 January 2010 facsimile on 26 January 2010 appealing our 13 November 2009 final response to your Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request for "copies of all current Central Intelligence Agency ('CIA') `Records Control Schedules approved by the National Archives and Records Administration' mentioned in the CIA Privacy Act Systems of Records Notice ('SORN') published at 70 Fed. Reg. 42,418 (July 25, 2005)." Specifically, you appealed our determination to deny you access to material in its entirety on the basis of FOIA exemptions (b)(1), (b)(2), and (b)(3). Your appeal has been accepted and arrangements will be made for its consideration by the appropriate members of the Agency Release Panel. You will be advised of the determinations made. In order to afford requesters the most equitable treatment possible, we have adopted the policy of handling appeals on a first-received, first-out basis. Despite our best efforts, the large number of appeals that CIA receives has created unavoidable processing delays making it unlikely that we can respond within 20 working days. In view of this, some delay in our reply must be expected, but every reasonable effort will be made to respond as soon as possible. Sincerely, c~i~i af~ ~K - W"w4~ Delores M. Nelson Information and Privacy Coordinator (b)(3)
