This is to acknowledge receipt of your 6 November 1993
letter wherein you inquired into the status of your 22 March
1993 Freedom of Information Act request for records pertaining
to Ian Fleming. You also asked that your request be "regard[ed]
as a priority in view of a pressing book deadline."
With respect to your request for expedited processing,
please be advised that expedited processing is granted only in
those rare instances where health and/or humanitarian
considerations create circumstances of exceptional urgency and
extraordinary need. Since your request clearly fails to meet
these criteria, your request for expedited treatment is denied.
Furthermore, if your deadline is within a short time from now,
please be advised that it is extremely unlikely that we will be
able to meet it. Keeping that in mind, please let us know as
soon as possible if you want us to proceed.
Unfortunately, we are unable to provide you with a date as
