MEMORANDUM FOR THE RECORD
SUBJECT: rhoo_R__lennington
1. At approximately 9:25 P.M., yesterday, 27 February
1974, Mr. Lee Pennington contacted me by telephone at my
residence. The short conversation was almost exactly as
follows:
Lee said, j I know you can't talk but
I wanted you to now that I just got a call from
the attorney for the Grand Jury and he told me to
forget it--that they had wiped it out. I thought
it might relieve your mind."
(I believe Pennington was referring to the Jaworski
Special Prosecutor's office, because when I met him
briefly Monday in the afternoon at the Nedzi com-
mittee hearing, he said he had had a session that
day before the Grand Jury. My impression is that
he was referring to a session with the Jaworski
staff then, too. Because of restrictions on my
conversing with him, I did not press him for
clarification during this phone call, nor have I
sought additional details since.)
