Contingency Statement
Richard Helms, the Director of Central Intelligence, said today that
a news story alleging that the White House had ordered the Central
Intelligence Agency to bug the Democratic National Headquarters in the
Watergate buildings is completely false. There is not a shread of
truth to this story, the Director added.
