SUBJECT : Extension of Contract JG-1969
Electro-Mechanics Company
1. The Office of Research and Development, through
the OSA contracting mechanism, has been funding a
contract with Electro-Mechanics Company (EMCO), Austin,
Texas. The original EMCO contract was written by the
OSA Contract Management Division because the product,

additional funding was channeled to EMCO through the
original contracting procedures. OSA also retained
security cognizance of the contract during these changes.
2. Since NRO funds are not involved and OSA has no
further operational interest in the product, the security
responsibility of this contract appears to fit more
properly within the framework of the Office of Logistics
Security Staff. It is recommended that the contracting
procedures and the security responsibilities related to
this contract be transferred to the Office of Logistics
as of 1 July 1968.
