(Context statement: None.) 2. As of 2030 hours (local) on 12 September 2012, there were no known security incidents or clashes in Tripoli, Libya, impacting U.S. or other foreign missions. A vehicle with a black flag was detained around the U.S. Embassy (NFI). (U.S. State'Department Official; Observations of CIA officers) 3 4. As of 1830 hours (local), there were demonstrations in Darnah in support of the attacks in Benghazi. Those demonstrating included people of all ages and some unsPecified battalion elenents (b)(1) (b)(3) 6. Following notification on the night of 11 September of the attack against the U.S. Consulate, the Libyan National Guard dispatched security vehicles with armed officers to areas considered sensitive and necessary to control in order to prevent future clashes. In addition, the National Guard increased its security presence throughout Tripoli with vehicle inspection checkpoints and vehicle patrols of roads leading to and from embassies and vital government buildings. The National Guard only conducted these uatrols until the early morning of 12 September 2012.
