Dr. Catherine Clardy, Head of Department of Slavic Lan- guages at FSI, has requested five copies of the OTR Newspaper Reader for use in a current Czech full-time course. FSI has also been making use of our Polish and Russian newspaper readers. direction, in our two able reading courses, which total seven hours a week. This arrangement is the result of a fuery by NEA as to whether we might be able to use her part-time services, since her job with the division did not fully occupy her time. Several new techniques for teaching language at an intermediate level are being combined with greater demands being placed on both instructors and students.
