The attached figures le- Viet two torch sizes - one with tour sinutes burning tins, and one with sovm sisutes burning tins. The sass design data used in these torch daoips may also be applied to any rise cutting torch. for example, it would be possible to design a such lighter and smaller cutting torch capable of burning 15 to 30 seconds. I believe the attached sketches are pretty such self explana- tory. The four minute torch shown has been sized to provide sufficient brat to cut through a three inch steel plate at the rate of nine to ten inches per smuts. figure 2 shows design details of the nozzle and blow- out vents. A standard fuse lighter has been provided in the cutti:.d torch design. To ignite the torch the moisture proof seal is removed, the fuse is threaded in the fine lighter, and the fuse lighter rir.v pulled. In this particular design a blow-out provision is also made in the event over pressurizing should occur within the nozzle chamber. Thf design pressure is IOC psi, which pewits a c.,rvergent -.otz:e to be used and insures a low diameter jet of intense heat. ,Approx:sately 4?:X 'P) As we discussed yesterday, I would appr?_iate r. r trirg.ng the e-,:se information to the attention of the proper pestle.
