J (3) Estimated cost of removing flag pole from roof of Liberty Loan Building and. installation in front of Administration Building is $395.00. Informal. estimates obtained from two contractors indicate that new pole can be furnished and installed for approximately $250.00. Arrangements are now being made to obtain the new pole. (~+) Air raid warning system was installed by C & P Telephone Company and necessary connections to the horn syster:,were made by PBS group forces. (2) Housings Field's proposal to install two pre-fab houses was not favorably received is now compi3.ing cost and data on construction of two permanent houses. Transformer Project: Replacement of faulty acoustical tile only remaining item to be accomplished. Contractor expects to complete this work by the middle of next week. All major building alterations completed except for. painting. Heat rate-of-rise fire detection system received and installation expected to be completed by close of business today. Final inspection of entire project except painting scheduled for 17 June 1955. PBS Group Superintendent is ready to start his work immediately after final inspection has been made. Every effort being made to find satisfactory solution to painting problem. Recreation and Services Building: as Estimate in the amount of $2,000.00 received from PBS covering air conditioning requirements of the special Projects Branch, OL, original estimate was $650.00. This office is of the opinion that other arrangements should be made in view of the rather sizable cost involved. b. Low bid of $3,615.00 received covering installation of fluorescent.lighting in Auditorium. PBS estimate on this project was $7,500.00. Contract will be awarded on basis of low bid. , 25X1A 25X1A 5? - Vault A: Work on this project is scheduled to commence on Monday or Tuesday of next week. 6. North Buildings All masonry demolition in conjunction with requirements in Roans 12, 12A and 12B has been accomplished. Pour of concrete floor and laying of additional cinderblock remains. Group forces have erected new double doors and will be able to progress more rapidly when floor work is completed. Carpenters and metal workers have fabricated approximately one-half of the required signs, however, the Paint Shop has not been able to start lettering. 8. I-J-K-L Buildings: Installation of a heavy feeder from transformer and generator to increase capacity will be completed by the close of business today. 9. Curie Hall: 25X1A a. Due date for bids on rate-of-rise fire detection alarm system set for 21 June 1955. on or about 30 June 1955. Contract award to be made b. Partial alteration requirements submitted by Office of Personnel; those received to date have been processed. PBS group forces in process of painting Roam 117. Installation of two air conditioning units has been started. Several small maintenance requests are being processed. 11. Telephone Activities: a. Physical surveys of ONE and SSA/DDS Offices were conducted during the past week. b. As requested on 8 June 1955, the C&P Telephone Campany will conduct a one day traffic study of the PBX switchboard operation on 20 June 1955? Personnel and switchboard requirements based upon the complete study have been requested. 1.2. Cinderblock Building: Canp3ete evacuation of this building is approaching its final stages.
