1. The Security aecords Division was activated on 1-:ondaY,
13 Or...to)-)er 1958, At that tine this nivision assumed control of
all personnel in both file roorls and reassigned those personnel
to various sections in the three new Branches of the Division.
Generarly, personnel were reassitped to duties comaensurate with
the duVes they had already been performing.

already hen selected and or of them are already assigned to
the Division. however, other personnel who have been :;elected
for thin 2,r1nch have not as yet been transferred into the Divi-

In this regard, cooreination is being Carried on among the vari-
ous ivision ehiefs and the Ghief? Aldnistration and Training
fAaff.

that t,:2re is nut orou-h roon in the file roon area for the divi-
sional office arsaee for this office is being obtained at Room
watch roma is presently occupied by personnel,

ticipated that the divisional office will nave into this new space
soLletiNe curinR this nonth. In the noantimo, plans are being
forrailated now for the reprouping of personnel by Sections and
Branches in the filo roon area. A plln, along with a roquestl'is
being slIbnitted to Adninistr.Aion and Training Staff in the near
future for support in this novo. According to best estinatcs
this now will take place in about t::(7, weeks.
h. The general approach to the change-over in the adninis-
tration of both file rooms has been to try to effect the changes
without any interruption of the flow of work or any decrease in
the efficiency of operation, therefore, certain functional
Eroupings are being held u2 at the present tine in order to assure
that all phases of the operation will be consicered.

5. Until this week daily conferenceo have been hold each
morning with the oranch Chiefs in order to coordinate their
effort.3 in consolidation, to receive reports on their progress
and to plan for rho targets to be acco?iplished for each day.
Beginning this week these conferences are being decreased to
three aok; on onciay, iriecinesday and Friday mornings. A pro-
gram has been announced for the i3ranches to conduct their
veekly conferences and plans are being !lade to institute
semi-annual divisional confercracca with a roc:al:4x agenda tailored
to tho no.eds of the
6. Prequent liaison is being maintained with the Chiefs of
the Personnel Security Division and the Lecurity Support Division
as Well as-with the various Staff Chiefs in order to rr.?:.:et current
problems. an they arise in the consolidation of the file rooms.
7. In addition to the statistical reports :Mich be
nubmitted by the Avision on a monthly basis with regard to pro-
cessing times etc. of clearance type cases, it is planned to
submit a monthly narrative type roport? such as this ones in
order that you nay be kept fully inforled of the overall progress
of this Al:Isiah. Such report will be submitted during the first
