'ibis site was not present in Launch Site ll consists of a possible shallow, irregular-shaped excavation served by a loop road (Figure 1). "1 he access .road into the site is an old winding road unlike the well-engineered roads usually seen at ICBM launch complexes. Few details are discernible within the loop road. "l~here appears to be an excavation but its exact shape and dimensions cannot be deter- mined. Four objects are located on the west side of the excavation but it is not possible to tell whether they are buildings or just snow- covered mounds of earth. No fence is visible Publication No: NPIC/R-119/63 Date: June 1963 at the site. The launch site is the only component of the possible launch area present. The site support facilities are probably collocated with those of Launch Area C. lividence of considerable travel between these two areas supports this interpre- tation. 'There are about 14 unidentified buildings located on the east side of the access road 0.6 ntn north of the launch site. These buildings arc larger and do not have the appearance of a typical Russian village. However, they were present in and are probably not related to the launch area. Poor-quality photography and ground snow cover preclude detailed interpretation. FIGURE 1.
