The installation is not rail served. A secondary road connects the depot with the Brest-Baranovichi highway and the Baranovi- chi Barracks and Maneuver Area Lesnaya (TA- 1) which is located 4 km north. A storage area near Paulinovo is located 5 km west. The installation covers approximately 70 acres and contains seven probable explosives DESCRIPTION storage buildings enclosed by a fence and a perimeter firebreak. The area was covered by photography and frlfissions between 1 -1 one small building has been added and vege- tation appears t o be growing in the firebreak area. Lack of d efined track a ctivity on the ac- cess road and w ithin the inst allation suggests possible abandonment as an ammunition stor- age area. OF INSTALLATION Railroad Service There is no direct rail service to the area although the double-track Brest-Baranovichi rail line is located one km north. A small rail yard along the main track immediately north of the installation may provide service for the depot. Road Service A secondary access road connects the installation to the all-weather Baranovichi- Brest highway. Ammunition Storage Area The ammunition storage area (Figure 3) contains six 40 by 20 foot buildings and one 75 by 40 foot building. The area is secured and enclosed by a firebreak. The buildings are unrevetted and dispersed at a minimum of 110 feet. The 75 by 40 foot building has been 0 Approved For Release 2006/01/17 : 1IA-RDP70D04G0AWf2200010036-5 TOP SECRET 25X1 Approved For Release 9b70'?117 Approved For Release 2006/01/17 A002200010036-5 25X1 TOP SECRET Approved For Rere U 2AM17 : L RE)P:78B ----------- 00010036-5 NPIC/R-277/64 TO BARANOVICHI-BREST\ HIGHWAY 3 KM BARANOVICHI BARRACKS AND MANEUVER AREA TO LESNAYA 11 KM BR EST// Railroad, double track Road Fence -?- Power line 100 0 100 200 300 400 500 FIGURE 3.
