This report is one in a series on Soviet Ground Force and Logistic
installations being prepared for a I)IA/CIA Panel. The series is being
coordinated, published and disseminated by NPIC. The photographic
analysis is being performed by the NPIC Photographic Analysis Group,
the CIA Photographic Intelligence I)ivision (NPIC), and the Production
Center 1111c (I)IA). The photographic analysis for this particular re-
port was performed by the Production Center 1P I c .
In the interest of uniformity, the titles and letter designators for
the facilities observed at these installations are identical with those
appearing in the project requirement. When a specific facility is not
observed both its title and letter designator are omitted in the report.
Titles and letter designators for the various facilities are as
follows: (A) railroad service, (13) road service, (C) landing strips,
(1)) administrative and troop housing areas, (I;) storage areas, (l) am-
munition storage areas, (G) POL storage areas, (II) other buildings and
facilities, (J) equipment storage/maintenance areas, (K) athletic fields,
(I,) small arms firing ranges, (M) driver training areas, (N) tank/
assault gun firing ranges, (P) flat trajectory firing ranges, (Q) artillery
emplacements (batteries), (R) infantry or combined arms field train-
ing areas or courses, (S) special training facilities, I') unidentified
facilities or tracking activity.

A medium-sized barracks area is located on
the west edge of ,Vlukachevo (Vigure 1). ']'here
has been only slight expansion (Areas J1, 32
and 1;) since World War II. further expansion
is limited by surrounding civilian residential
areas.
This installation (figures 2 and3) reported-
ly houses the headquarters and major elements
of a motorized rifle division. Twenty-six bar-
racks and administration buildings, four prob-
able warehouses, a possible gymnasium, three

motor parks with storage and maintenance build-
ings, and an athletic field comprise the installa-
tion.
Vehicle storage and maintenance m-cas Lire
extensive, although individual vehicles are not
discernible. Considerable activity is evident
in all areas.

The installation has access to the city
streets of Mukachevo.
Administrative and Troop Housing Areas
Area I) contains 19 permanent rectangular
barracks, four I l-shaped multistory administra-
tive buildings, one k-shaped multistory admin-
istrative building, and one permanent, rectangu-
lar administrative building.
General Storage Area
Area I( contains four warehouses.
Other Buildings
A possible gymnasium is located in Area 11.
Equipment Storage/Maintenance Areas
Area Ti contains a 1,000- by 50foot motor
park and three 200- by 35-foot vehicle sheds.
Area J2 contains a 500- by 400-loot motor
park and three 50- by 35-foot maintenance build-
ings.
Area J3 contains a 500- by 400 foot motor
park, two 200- by 50-foot vehicle sheds, and
five 100- by 50-foot maintenance buildings.
Athletic Fields
An athletic field (K) is located in Area I).
