This report supplements NPIC/R-219/63
and R- 127/64, 1/ 2/ which discuss the Derazhnya
MRBM Complex, previously consisting of two
Type II launch areas, one Type IV launch area,
and a fixed field site (Figure 1).
Derazhnya MRBM Launch Areas No 1, 2, and
3 and Fixed Field MRBM Site No 1 were all
first observed in

Derazhnya Fixed Field MRBM Site No 2
(Figure 2) is located in a level, wooded area.
It is approximately 2.7 nautical miles (nm)
south-southwest of Derazhnya Fixed Field
MRBM Site No 3 and 4 nm east of Letichev. The
site was negated on
and was first observed in
It contains four launch
positions and a clearing, interconnected by a
loop road network. The azimuths of the launch
positions are approximately 235 degrees, com- 25X1 D

Derazhnya Fixed Field MRBM Site No 3
(Figure 3) is located in a level, wooded area.
It is approximately 2.7 nm north-northeast of
Fixed Field Site No 2 and 5.2 nm northeast of
Letichev. The site was negated on -
It contains four launch positions arranged on a
loop road network. The azimuths of the launch
positions are approximately 235 degrees. No
activity is evident on the positions or in the
immediate area. The site remained unchan ed
on a subsequent KEYHOLE mission in 25X1 D

A rail spur 2.3 nm south of Launch Area No
3 could be used by this site and field site No 1
as a rail-to-road transfer point. A good road
connects the sites with the transfer point. Launch
Areas No 1 and 2 and Fixed Field Sites No 2
and 3 could use the rail yards at Derazhnya
for a rail-to-road transfer point. Good roads
connect these sites with Derazhnya.
