A large new military storage depot under
25X1 D construction 13 nm ENE of Cairo and 3 nm SE of
Camp Huckstep was observed on
Noforn) (Figure 1). The depot has small sheds
which appear to be for fuze storage, ==d ware-
houses which are in closely spaced groups
without blast protection (Inset, Figure 1). Each
of the warehouses has a cutout section in one side
of the roof. This feature in warehouses has not

DITCH
been previously observed except at a small
chemical plant at Ta-lien, China (see illustration
in NPIC/R-1390/63, S/No Foreign Dissem).
Pipeline ditches are being dug to serve the
depot, and other pipelines carry waste to ex-
cavations which appear to be sumps. The depot
has a system of blacktopped roads with extremely
long turning radii which allow extra long truck
trailers to be used at'the depot. The purpose of
this depot is not known.
