A military installation (1 igure 1) with billet-
ing facilities for 1,472 troops (based on 50 s(I ft
of floor space per man) is located 5.5 miles east
of the center of Petropavlovsk-Karnchatskiy at
UTM 57(VU902765. It covers u2 acres and con-
tains a probable athletic field, adriver-training
track, 3 firing ranges (210 by 1,050 ft, 350 by
875 ft and 350bv 1,025 ft), and 24 buildings: four
50 by 260 ft barracks (52,0x00 sq ft), two 1'S by
240 ft barracks (21,6(x) sq ft), one U-shaped
