(U) Midwest College Placement Assoc' Lion: From 25X1A
31 Nlay through~June, Recruiter participated
in the Annual Spring Meeting of t e i west College Placement
Association (MCPA) held in Indianapolis. Same 400 college
pla~cernent officers .and recruiters were in attendance. The
,format of the meeting was a series of 15 workshops; each
partir_.ipant could attend five. The workshops provided fox
an exchange of ideas on such topics as effective employee
selection systems, training and recruiters, building a college
:relations prog:ram, and other issues of interest to em layer 25X1A
:representative:> and placement officials, reports
that the meeting was very valuable as a learning experience
as well as a means of making recruitment contacts.
2. (U) Hispanic Convention: Recruiter- 25X1A
reports that the IMA E Hispanic Convention, une -9, went
well and that the Agency display was well received. He reports
that he heard several com;nents than. CIAPs display and the one
from the Coast Guard were the best. accepted five 25X1A
resumes and gave out .Forms to about t n e. ego es who said
they would be in further touch for interviews.

6. (U/AIIJO) Possible Dock Strike: Central Processing
Brancl~i has been adv sled that t exe is a possibility of a
iJ.S, West Coast dock strike beginning 1 July 1978, Discussions
are currently under way between the Pacific Maritime Associations
and the International Longshoreman's and Warehouseman's Union
to n~.gotiate new contracts. According to our sources, both
side; seem to be optimistic that a settlement can be reached
without: a work stoppal;e. However, if the strike does occur,
the entire West: Coast from Seattle to San Diego will be affected.
This., of course, will have a serious effect on all shipments
cons:!igned to or transiting from the West Coast and may very
we1:1 affect many of our shipments.
7. (U) Blood Donor Day: Due to passible demonstration
activities, Blo~~r Day ad to be postponed until 12 June.
A.s a result, the number of donors (13Z) was down slightly as
comp~~.red to June 1977 (165).

8. (C:) Length-of-Service Certificates: Each year we
begin. t:he presentation o' Agency len.gt -o -service certificates
during the annual awards ceremony in September. We are now
well. along. in the preparation of this y-ear's certificates.
Computer runs have been checked and verified and a request to
print: the certificates has been forwarded to Printing and
Phot;a~gxaphy Division. This year, 2,248 employees will be
eligible for certifica.tes,~as follows:.

9.. (U) Redskin Ticket Drawing: The Employee Activities
Assac;iation held its annual cawing for the purchase of Redskin
ticlkf:~ts on Tuesday, 13 June. There were 1,675 applications
whic}i was up slightly over last year. Since there are eight
home games this year, we will have 1-,000 winners, each of whom
.can };purchase two tickets. Winners are now being notified and
tic:k~;ts will be available 19-22 .June.
