came aboard,unescorted,at the flag buoy. This buoy was not in position
when ship entered port but it was at the time of departure.
2. The harbor at Kamenka (N C,g-53, E x--07) was the same as it was in 1953?
The pantoons at Mezen had been repaired during the winter season; one of
the pontoons was completed on 8 June. A few tugboats were observed in
the harbor. A completely loaded Soviet lighter had to lay at the quay
for four days while waiting for a tub to move it.
3. On two or three occasions,a three-engined ai.,-craft was observed coming
from the north and landing at the airfield on the east side of the Dvina
River. There was no indication that aircraft were using the field on a
regular schedule. Tike-offs from the field waste always to tZ~ north.
