(LISTED BELOW) SUPPLE REPORT 25X1 P 25X1 German Air Force. Blue, red and black collar patches and an unidentified rank insignia were worn on the uniforms. It was learned from workers at the field., that each German worker had to decide by 1 July 1955 whether he wanted to be transferred to the GDR Lufthansa or remain as an employee of the Soviet Armed Forces. The Lufthansa was to take over the Diepensee airfield section while the Soviets were to occupy the Schoenefeld airfield section. 1 THIS IS UNEVALUATED INFORMATION 1. In late May and early June 1955, personnel 14l Irfie GDR Lufthansa were seen for the fist time at the southern sof Schoenefeld airfield near Diepensee. They wore uniforms which resembled those of the former 2. In late May it was learneds that Arthur Pieck, son of the state president of the GDRjwas favorably considered for the post of director general of the GDR Lufthansa. Dr Otto John who previously was mentioned in this connection was apparently not to roceive this post. 2 3. Comment. Arthur Pieck was previously reported as candidate for the 25X1 post of chief of the GDR airline.
