A. Summary of Suggestion
Suggester proposes mechanizing the notes of the individual
analysts by the use of an edge-punched card similar to the McBee
Keysort or the Flexisort, so that other persons could readily take
advantage of these notes.
B. Summa of Evaluations
A pilot study of this suggestion was made. The Ad Hoc Com-
mittee was composed of:

A summary of this study, as recorded by
Chief, Admin Staff, ORR, is:
"It is evident from the ORR trial of the suggested filing
system that while a great mass of information can be intro-
duced into and recovered from the system in an orderly
fashion, present clerical staffing, the most advantageous
use of analysts' time, and the factors stated in Paragraph 2
above jee sugg. folder - 6/17/58 memo for detail do not
warrant the adoption of the suggested system.
"Those few places. (estimated to be five or less) where the
suggested filing system (or similar systems) may be used to
good advantage will be examined further to determine the
merits of a selective sort card system of this type. No
tangible saving would result....
"In view of the limited scope to which subject suggestion
can be applied in ORR, it is recommended that the suggester
receive either a nominal award or letter of appreciation..."
