Cotton-Seed Oil Combine in Kirovabad, Azerb, SSR
1. Cotton-Seed Oil Combine in Kirovabad is located on Oktyabrskaya Street,
just across from the Street Car Depot, and occupies an area of about
130 x 100 meters. Director of the Combine was (fnu) GADZHIYEV. (No
other names available,) Facilities include the office building, storage
areas for cotton seeds, and oil cakes, oil producing plant, soap manufac-
turing shop, shop making wooden boxes, electric power plant (three steam
turbines), boiler room, four oil storage tanks, and railroad platform,
2. Cotton seeds are brought to the Combine by trucks from the Cotton Combine
adjacent to the premises described herein, and are stored in the open.
From here, seeds are taken to be cleaned and later pressed to extract
the oil. There are three ginning machines which clean the seeds, and
15 presses, i.e., oil extracting machines. After purification process,
oil is pumped into the storage tanks. Cotton-seed oil of two different
qualities which is produced here is carried to an unknown destination
by tank-trucks, (No other information available on quantity of production-)

3. The Combine employs about 800 people in three shifts. Women make up about
one-third of the working force and are employed mostly in the oil extract-
