SUBJECT: Annuaa.. Report of the Economic Defense Subcommittee
RE` NCE: EIC (EDSC) for the Fiscal Year 1964
A. Activities of the Subcommittee During. the Fiscal Year
1. The Subcommittee did not meet during the Fiscal Year 1964.
2. Because intelligence support and coordination of intelli-
gence pertaining to economic defense are carried on within working
groups of the EDAC/ACEP committee structure and to some degree within
other subcommittees of the EIC, the need for the Subcommittee on
Economic Defense as a medium for interagency review and coordination
has been minimal. It has not received 'any requests for reports dur-
ing the past year.
B. Future ogrem of the Subcommittee
There are presently no reasons to believe that in the forth-
coming year there will be a substantial increase in the activity of
the subcommittee, although some ad hoc matters might be referred to it
as a result of the COCOM List Review and other economic defense prob-
lems. It is recommended that the subcommittee remain in existence for
another fiscal year in order to provide. a coordinating mechanism for
any. such request that may arise. In the event that during this period
no requests are presented to the Subcommittee,. consideration should be
given to its abolition. 25X1.._.
