In early January 1,.))l the Chinese Communists sent 5,000 tons of rice to t.iacao
for shipment to Pr, ir, Kong. YAI:G ':uo yun (4,; fay, r ) of the Ho Chun (~ ; )
Company in Cantor was responsible for the shipping. YANG is head of the
Chinese Conaunie Transportation Section in Chungshan and was the first
person in Chung, Ilan to become rich through handling shipments for the
Communists. J . 3 January he transported 4,800 bags of rice to Macao, making
delivery at f'o Tai Ping +'arehouse.' The Nan iiuang Trading Company* handled
the transpcr Ition from there, loading the rice on the SS TE IiSING (~ ~)
for iiong Un 9 January 1,500 bags of rice were loaded on three barges
which were owed to Number 5 Wharf, Aaoao, and unloaded at the Tai Ping
Na rehouse.
On the ni. it of 16 January 1951, 12 t.ar.ges towed by a motorboat transported
4,000 bu: of rice from Chungshan to i4acao, where the rice was stored in
Public ';rehouses 5 ana 6.
3. On 19 1 iuary 1951 the SS CLUN USING (J 1) arrived in ,iacao towing 14
boats .aced with 700,000 catties of rice. According to YAJG Shih-cheng**
this r'1,e was to be turned over to :ur. FU (jq ) of the xuan Auang Company,
to be xchaxig;ed for gasoline and machinery. On the same day at Dumber 32
Yihar large 4uaritities of machinery, 300 boxes of medicines, and 1,640
d.rur! of gasoline were loaded boats which were probably to be towed back to
Can -1 by the CI;UN I.SILG on.21 January. Une hundred tires (34 x 7 and
32 A 6), and 100 automobile engines were also being loaded on 20 January.,
