The highest peak .-in that mountainous area, about 5 kilometers north of Igu-long, lies on both sides of the communications lines; a warehouse has been built at the foot of that mountain peak. This underground warehouse has been constructed b~ digging into the mountain. It has a corridor, running parallel to the highway which is about 1,000 meters long. Four tunnels have been constructed at right angles to this corridor, about 300 meters apart. The mouth of this corridor is about 4 meters wide (just large enough for two motor vehicles abreas). This underground warehouse can hold over 200 motor vehicles and is sometimes used as an air-raid shelter. Six store rooms, about 6 meters wide and 22 meters deep, have been cut into the side of this corridor about 100 meters apart. Reinforced concrete pillars have been constructed in this warehouse and an iron door has been placed at the head of each passage... Radio facilities for making outside contacts have been installed. A age quanti< of TNT yellow explosive (sic) has been placed in this warehouse in order to blow i?e ap if necessary; if this TNT is exploded the resulting debris will _i,eate a large oostruction across both the railway and highway.
