SHORT SUBSTANTIVE TITLE AND/OR DESCRIPTION OF SERVICE TO BE PERFORMED
1. This is a request for $1,000 to be used for the purchase of
suitable art effects for the CIA Library Reading Room. This
area is considered one of the Agency's public rooms and it is
in need of finishing touches to relieve the bare walls.
2. The CIA Fine Arts Committee will be invited to make a formal
visit to the Library to determine which areas should be given
priority.

and the HIC Curator proposals to purchase additional furniture
and art effects for the CIA Library. gave immediate

agreed with the suggestion that several significant pieces
of art could enhance the Library aesthetics. It is believed
that first priority should be given to placing major art works
on three large wall areas in the Reading Room. On Stack Level II
smaller prints, graphics and drawings could be displayed and on
the ground floor an attractive mural might be appropriate on the
left wall at the entrance.
