SUBJECT: Maximum Tire Pressure
REFERENCE: Memorandum for the Heads of Executive Agencies
and Establishments from GSA, dtd August 15, 1980,
same subject (ER 80-5051; DDA 80-1976; OL 0 3995)
1. Referenced memorandum recommends that tire pressure be
increased to maximum pressure in order to achieve a further
reduction in fuel consumption.
2. Attached for your concurrence is a draft Headquarters
Notice advising employees that the Motor Pool has adopted the
policy of inflating tires to maximum pressure and encouraging
individuals to adopt a similar policy.
3. GSA has advised that they will make sunvisor sleeves
available listing the five major precepts of Driver Energy Con-
servation Awareness Training. The Plans and Programs Staff will
order the sleeves for the Motor Pool as soon as GSA releases the
ordering instruction.
