SUBJECT: Executive Committee Meeting: IG Survey of DO's
......East Asia Division 12 January 1984,
1 The IG survey of DO's East Asia Division contained a
recommendation that .the Executive Director generate a study of
technical and security requirements in new overseas construction
or space modifications. A group chaired by the Office of
Logistics, with the Offices of Security,
25X1 Communications, Technical-Services, Research &
25X1 Development, the DO's Information Management and
Staffs, the DDA's Safety Staff and the SSA produce the attached
report.
- 2. 1 would like to discuss their report at an upcoming
I -1 meeting on 12 January 1984. The Group put a good bit of thought
into their study, concluding that there should be, in effect, a
program manager to. oversee the multiplicity of Agency people
.having.a piece of this pie.
3. The thrust of their effort was, appropriately, the
physical aspects of overseas security; given. recent events. we
may want to consider the study in a somewhat broader context.
4. Another IG recomnendation had to do :with reviewing and
-upd-atingAgency policy on cohabitation. The`"EXCOM addressed this
topic a couple of times and the DDO sent a book cable to the
field on 2 December 1983. The CI Staff and the Office of
25X1 Security have been working on a revision of , to
replace the interim book cable. I would like the Committee to
hear the -status of .th.e revisvon...and .the r.e&pon-s.e.s,to._date to the
book cable.
