TEXT: The results of an aeromagnetic survey performed by the Soviet ant-
arctic expedition are compared with the geological structure and the aerophoto-
graphs of the Westfall oasis, The bareness of the section makes it possible to
determine quite reliably that the magnetic anomalies (variation amplitude up to

dikes, and that the strike of the anomalies does not reflect that of individual
dikes but the outlines of the crack zones. The author poinz.s out that the con-
clusions obtained in the Antarctic may be also extended to other uarts of the
earth' surface, in particular to the regions of the Tay7,rs';,,aya and Leno-Vilra-

question reuialns whether Lt is 'the only cause of anomalous varlaticns. For quan-
titative evaluation the author recommends a laboratory study using real sea wa-
ter and different samples of Antarctic land ice. If the authorlz hyrothesis
proves correct the magnetic obzervatorie.-~ In Antarctica shuuld be located some
distance away from the coastline, Furthermore this hjpothesis entitles to a
conclusion that anomalous variations are character 'istic for any place in the
world where salt sea water contacts fresh ice .(Greenland, Franz josef Land, Se-
vernaya Zemlya) . It, is also possible that this phenomenon, in a modified form,
takes place In estuaries of rivers flowing into seas.

used in aerogeophysical. work. Procedures and techniques for photo-
control extension for different types and different conditions of
aerogeophysical research is discussed, particularly in the case of
detailed photography al- altitudes below 1.00 maters. A separate chap-

TExT: The one-to-one correspondence Of the micoding of words in one alphabet byvord~ in another (or
the same one) by operators realized by digital devicci is investigated. Operators realized by devices ~~ith
memory are investigated in papers on finite automatic inachincs, but the corunionly deniandedsynchro-
nization of input and output limits the discussion to operators that cannot elwode letter,, by words of diffemit
lengths. This paper deals with modified common operators that mako such an ciicodin?, possiblo. Attontioni
is paid exclusively to the one-to-one corresipondence of the encoding operator,; and the problenis poied by
the statistical character of the source of information are not dealt with here.
Finitely-determined operators are delined, their simplest characterktics art- given, and fheir relation 11) file
commonly defined operators is Found. Ensembles ofall the words of a pven alphabet arc d6ined sinularly to

ABSTRAM The author states that the training in economics at the Moscow
Institute of Nonferrous Metals and Gold was treatad at various
Party meetings, but that no marked results were roached. Some
progress was made only after the XXth Party ConFr#).ziti took plane.
The main subjects of the established progr,!tr
, - ire: the improved
t-~aching of political economy as a theoretical. dincipline, im-
proved courses in industrial economy, ani the introduction of
problems relating to economics and indwitrial organization in
special technical disciplines. These three subjects must be
coordinated to show satisfactory reaults. The author goes on
to describe the work done along thmi3e themes.

problems of economics. Last year 3 PrOf(!91301'8 and 7 dotsents
worked in the economics seminar of the Faculty of Proiqecting
Geology, headed by Professor S.A. Pervushin, Doctor of Economic
Sciences, holding the Chair of Industrial Economy. ThaSe seminars
are very useful for the teachers of technical discl.plines.
The collaboration of technical and ecc'nomic chairs i!i an
established feature of this Moscow Institute. So, Per-
vushin assisted a lecture by Professor A.A. Tstvdlor on
"Mining and Reverberatory Melting in the Copper 1.;iduqtrr". Eco-
nomic problems of industrial processes ar-a at presont already
contained in lectures and textbooks, as e.t;. O,onozic subjOCt5
treated in a lecture given by Professor A.I. Belyayev on
"Metallurgy of Light Metals". Economic problems are- also dealt
with in the course "Enrichment of Mineral Pro-lucta". As a
result of the mentioned measures, many diploma projc~cts of the
last two years show marked improvements in the economic train-
ing of engineers and the influence of economica in the solution
of technictil problems.
