TEXT: A strong friendship has arisen between the Moscow w9lectrostal" and
the Zaporoxhlye "Dneprospetestall" Plante'during*25 years of competition and co-
operation. The competition Is directed to the reduction of production costs, rate-
Ing of production quality, labor efficidney eta. At the present the rank of a com-

exchange or experience has shown satisfactory results. How methods, such as the use
of oxyi3en In steelmelting, vacuum-treataient of ste9l, and electric slog remelting
of steel, have been developed, exchanged and improved by both plants. Electric pow-

ABSTRACT: The Ukrainian Republic has attained considerable success in power-
plant construction, particularly during postwar years. A number of
standardized steam electric stations with 100-200-Mw units, high-power
hydroelectric stations, transmission lines were constructed. In 1957, the
energy production was 38.7 billion kwh. Powerful specialized construction
and erection organizations have been mot up; they have large Industrial bases.
Objectives of power-plant construction in the UkrSSR for the Sixth Fivo-Year
Plan are n%apped out.
