Abstract: Work has been carried out on enrichment with vitamin C of sour cream
and butter. Per 1 kg of finished product were added 0.2 g synthetic
ascorbic acid (AA) or 6 g of vitamin C concentrate (VC) f-~-M hip
bearing rose. To sour cream JU or VC were added in the form of a
solution in buttermilk; to the butter AA was added prior to pressing
of the butter. It was found that enrichment of sour cream with AA
and VC increases its nutritive value without affecting the chemical
indices of quality that are specified in the GOST and produces no
effect an the taste. Following storage of sour cream for 7 days at

TF_VT: The relation is established between the extrusion qualities of a
z,ubber mix, i.e., The quality of its surface after the rubber mix haz left the
extruder, and its consistency (plasticity). No connection between these two fac-
to-s -,,as noted. An exTrusion mechanism is recommended, based on the interaction
between the adhesive force of the mix to the metal, and the cohesion force of the
mix. A laboratonj extruder with a 50.8 mm diameter screw conveyer was used to
extrudethe rubbermix,in the shape of a square cable of 16 x 16 mm cross-section.
The laboratory type extruder "Shpritsometr~' (Fig. 1), also used to test surface
extrusion qualities, is recommended for general laboratory use. Poor extrusion
qualities of the CKH(SKI) mixes containing channel carbon black, are explained
by a poorer sliding motion of the latter a long the walls of the instrument. It
isshowr that the extrusion qualities of the rubberuix surface depend on the rate of

can be obtained in various forms (spheroidal, cubic, prismatic, and iamellar) in
addition to the amorphous modification. X-ray analysis showed that all these types
Of MgO, have the NaCl structure, and therefore are pseudostructural modifications-1.
The reactivity of MgO in these various forms was studied by taking as an example
the solid phase reaction in the Mgo-CrZO3-Fe7O3 system. The mixture for the synthd-
sis of the ferrite powder was prepared by mixing the ground oxides (21.9% Cr203,,~
25.7% MgO, 53.4% re203). It was found that the grinding of the spheroidal, c1bici
;and prismatic M causes-a complete breakdown of the geometry of the paiticles so

ABSTRACT- The purpose of the study wa to develop methods for preparing multiform cr
tals of thermally unstable 2agnesiumMmpounds having such thermomechanical strength
that they preserve their form on decomposing to magnesium oxide, in order to influ-
ence the form of the MgO particles obtained. Prismatic magnesium carbonate crystals
which retained their form during decomposition to MgO (in a muffle furnace at 740-
-7600C) were obta-ined by combining magnesium nitrate and sodium carbonate solutions.
The size Of MgC03v&ystals formed depends on the stirring rate of the reaction mix-
ture. MgO of spSeroidal form was obtained by thermal decomposition of spheroidal

ABSTRACT: Data obtained from various observers on the expansion of such
animals as the elk, deer, wolf, fox, marten from forest re-
gions into the tundras of the Nenets National District, which
often includes crossing of large and rapid rivers and cover-
ing of 25-km-wide water expanses to places up to 230 km di-
stant from the nearest forest area, is explained by the tem-
perature increase in the north and (in the case of elk and
fox) a large numerical increase. There are 3 Soviet refer-
ences.

Describes discovery of a small ore body of poly-
metallic compn which occurs in the amygdaloid zone of
lava crust which is found along the banks of the
Lower Tunguska river. It can be referred to the
class of paraffins, to the group of hatchettiteE.
Calls it Evenkite because it was found in the
Evenkiy National Okrug. Presented by Acad D. V.
Nalivkin.

TITLE. The Interaction of Acoustic Oscillations in Ion- and
Electron-ion Plasmas

TEXT; It was the aim of the present paper to investigate the part played
by the nonlinear effects in ion- and electron-ion plasmas in the case of
acoustic oscillations. The authors calculate the mean free path of Debye
phonons, and they estimate the phononic thermal conductivity and the
relaxation time in a phonon system. By means of the plasma model of the
metal V. P. Siling Zyryanov, and G. G. Taluts have already investigated
the velocity of sound, electric conductivity, Debye temperature, sound
absorption, and other effects; the results obtained showed satisfactory
agreement with experiments. The advantage offered by the plasma model is
above all in the mathematical apparatus available for this model (method
of collective excitations). The free path calculated here within the
framework of the plasma model is used for the purpose of estimating
