Abstract: Using a I)reviously reported mothod (RZhKhim, 1955, 48650), the authors havc prepared pure mont-morillonite samples from bentonites of dif- ferent origins. The following conclusions can be drawn on the basis of the results of the ex perimants carried out by the authors: (1) Si4~ in the tetra dral layer is not substituted either by Al or by OH- groups; (2) in tho oc- Card. 1/3 7 HUNGARY / Physical Chomistry. It follows from the above discussion that capacity for ion oxchango does not result from an excess of charge p5qducod by the substitution of 1 Si4j' ion by 1 A-1 r ion in the tot;ah.-dral layo and by the substituti,)n of 1 14.10t ion by 1 MgE/ ion in the octahedral layer. Acad. sci. hung., 1955, 5, No 2., 259-263; German; Russian resume' Abstract: Gombas introduced earlier a supplementary repulsion potential G, repre- sentinG an analytic expression of the Pauli principle in the statistical-model ap- prr~ximatdon. Intrcducing this potential makes it possible to disregard the ortho- gonality conditions of radial functions with equal orbital quantum numbers, and ccnsequently, to use the nodeless approximation of the function of the Slater type. In this work, the Schroedinger equation, supplemented by the potential G, is used to substantiate the empirical choice of effective principal quantum number n* suggested by Slater. From the symmetry conditions of the Fermi momentum sphere for the sup- plementary potential, the expression G = -nr(nr+ 1)/2r2, where nr is the radial quantum number, is obtained. Acad. scient. hung.", 1961, v- 13, no. 2, 145 - 153), Piglish; Russian summary) T For solving a statistical equation representing a generalized Thomas-Fermi equation for electron density in atoms., the authors used a varia- t1ional method. They derived a nonlinear integro-differential equation for radial electron density with given azimuthal quantum number. It is shown that the num- ber of equations can be reduced with the aid of the variational method. The radial electron density for s and p electrons was determined by means of numerical calculation. The results are satisfactorily consistent with Hartree's calcula- tions. It is shown that the region of the immediate environs of the nucleus introduces the greatest error into the energy calculated on the basis of the investigated model. In regions of minor variation of potential the generalized Card 1/2 S/058/62/000/004//038/160 An approximate solution of... Ao58A1OI statistical model leads to good results. The authors point out that in the im- mediate proximity of the nucleus, errors in the model do not influence the relative accuracy of calculation of the physical quantities (ionization potential, electron. affinity) for which the behavior of the.-model on the atom's boundary is important. Authors describe their own measurement procedures, give neutron temperature measurements made with the ZR-2 zero reactor of the Central Research Institute and'oompare their results with similar measurements. So far as they know, no such measurements have hithert6 been made in triangular-geometric aqueous lattices built of EK-10 fuel elements,, but several have been made in various VVR-S type reactors, the care of which is a quadraniplar lattice having 17.5 mm lattice divisions and built of BE-10 Vdel elements. Since the Za parameter basically governa.the formation of WMtron -FACCESSION RR: AP4023745* spectra and the influence of the lattice geometry is slight, they compared their own measurements in a 19-an division triangular lattice (corresponding on the basis of that parameter to the lattice of VVR-S reactors). The values show consideratle divergences, probably because of differences in measuring methods, since WR-S type reactors with approxImately the same burnout and spectrum are involved. In heterogeneous reactors, the thermal neutron spectrum can change greatly within so-caUed "unit cells". Mostovoy (Atomnaya Energlya, 13/6, 1962) made measurements relating to this in natural uranium-water lattices, on the basis of which it could be expected that this effect is also considerable in lattices formed of EK-10 fuel elembnts. Such fac- tors as the time of residence of fission products in the strato- sphere, radioactive decay, the accumulation of isotopes in plants, and their elutriation from the soil, etc. are taken into account. According to the calculations children born in 1955-1958 will re- ceive the greatest radiation doses; doses are also calculated for the periods 1961-1962 and 1954-2000. /-Abstracter's note: Complete translation.-7 Card 1/1 ACCESSION IM Ap5o14459 PO/0046/64/009/12-/0892/0896 -:rzvbo-~rska, Danu~a ~Grzhibovska, D. z 2-1 e,.2;,rszar4- ~Shepke, 'Bla7hevska, L.) 7,;1anr-a E: Dec:)n11am--'.:-.~' ion factors i-n the 'warsaw City Filtration Plant Z,'-uir-leonika, v. 9t no. 11-12, 1964, 891-896 TA,].:'): nuclear decontamination, water sanitation, hydrolov Abitract: The article present's a repo.-t. on decontamination factors !~%~idied at the Warsax mimicipal filtration plant over the period 2 All- ~-yolrolo,-icazl anl,4 -hydrobioloi-sical data o " the Vistula -7,- e;ere ej IL-c-1 Puzz-*no- 6~~a-~.ion anit '.-e.-.ind one of the .910W f-JLl-,ers, Ille decor, -airL -a~, o j," the 106,-,Lrith- ination factor waa defined as -ec~-ns of radioactivi ties between river viater and drinking water. -i~ th-,~s octaineld 11.4 ---:an ar,-U' s'.an- aa.rd devi.~',.on for The indivif-aal s-uosta,~-.ced were also 'Z! -j '17,1 wl e ~& the r 0 zari 7"qml (" or ar,~ --,Lme ~, 1 C nlrmal 7, 16 Card -.1/2 L 45053-65 ACCESSION DrR: Ap5ol4459 ---n additLon, the correlation between the decontamination factor an 'ri-IrJOI-16 "Ydro'bioloizical parameters of the Visvula river Wel-e date ":1h-2 are -'ndebted Lo Prof. Dr L a ~ vq c z, ia io:zal ~;Omrqij~tce 1-6-0Z Pcla~.i, an-J Technical 3Z art.
