Among the cultivated plants, rice was moist resistant toirard this herbicide,
followed by wheat, oats, and barley (most sensitive). Cortoli, beans, radishos,
and sunflowers are resistant to isophos, but sugar be*u and flax are 4;ansi-
tive. Carrots were most resistant to isaphos in doses of 1-4 Ig/ha and
tomatoes and cucumbers showed medium resistance. Isophot; wim; 100% effective
against rice grass in meadow-marshy, soddy-podiolic, an~! siel-ozen- soils. Lt
vas only 83-97% effective in soils with high humus contOnt. Effectivene~ss
of isophos lasted for 30-100 days after application. A#itlysla of the soil
horizons indicated that it remained. mainly,in the top 0-30 czi of soil. Mhe
structure cf the aryl radical determines the jqiytotoxic properties of amides
of thio- and dithiophosphonic acids. Presomtt of two C: arams in the phj!nyl
group increases the herbicidal effects ot1thase compoutul.s.
