This collection of conferences papers on analysis of pes~,-jcides is the
first attempt to put together the most widely used nethc;ds for the analycis of
insecticides, fungicides, and herbicides.
The authors of papers in this book have used extensively the thin-layer
chromatography, colorimetry, spectrophotometry in visitle, ultmviolet, and
infrared spectral regions, polarography, and gas chronatnZ4i-aphy for the amly-
sis of these compounds. Gas chromatography makes it posr-ible to increase con-
sidembly the sensitivity of analytical methods.
Articles published in this book will be useful for itani analytical clic.-:1-
ists vorking in cooresponding labox-atories.
The-editors thank K. P. Novikova, S. V. YhkArova, and G. S. Supin for
their help during the collection of vaterials,

ABSTIUCT: Wave function distortion in the initial and finite states is con-
sidered within the framework of the multipole formaliurim in describing high-energy
nucleon scattering by nuclei. The distortional optical poten-tial is calculated
on the basis of two-nu!:~leon intaraction in accordance irith the multi'Dile scat-

of the apparatus is th,t it works under a high background level
from the electron beam. The calibration measurements performed
indicate that the apparatus permits the study of direct, nuclear
reactions with a cross-section of -- 2olo-3 sq cm/steradian,

Translation: By testing samples of 711 titanium allay ptpe 12 x 1.5 for fatigue,
it Was demonstrated that stress concentration in the investigated joint is
higher than the theoretically calculated concentration. Vil-ten testing with a
frequency of 200 hertz on a 107 cycle base, the effective concentration factor
was 3.2 with a fillet radius of 0.5 mm. The reduction ia faLigue strength is
ascribed to significant residual strains reaching 15% in the diameter transition
zone.

USSR Author's Certificate No 249784, filed 18 Mar 68, published 25 Dec 69 (from
R.Zh-Radiotekhnika, No 7, Jul 70, Abstract No 7A204 P)
Iranslation: The proposed converter, which may be used for measuring urit time
A
intervals, contains a master oscillator, switching unit, freqtiency dividers, and
shapers. As a distinguishing feature of the patent, the converter is simplified
by connecting the master oscillator to the switching unit, which is connected to
the inputs of the frequency dividers and the outputs of the shapers; the shaper
inputs are the inputs for the inatrument and the "reset.terminals" for the fre-
quency dividers. The outputs of the frequency dividers:are the instrument outputs.

Abstract: The article deals with synthesis of universal decades with
pulse-position data representation based on integrated:circuiti-f (chiefly
transistor-transistor logic). Some of the possibilitirus for increasing
the diegree of large-scale integration are also considered. A schematic
diagram of the pulse-position decade is given and its operetion is de-
scribed.

ABSTILkCr: Up to the present time, the paraineteys of dijital dis-play devices
have rarely been coordinated with the physcophysiologic,11 properties of
operators, This has resulted from a Mniber of factors, in particular the.
conception that digital readout has no characteristic St..bjec-tive error, as
well as the unavaiiability of the required recommendatj (ins. A comparative
analysis of information characteristics of digital and analojue readout,
perforifted in this work, indicates that the following ju!asure,, .911ould be taken
to increase the cffectivc~ness of perception of digital display devices:
utilization of information redundancy to create a three dimensional visual
niodal corresponding to the equivalent analogue reading by adding one or more
dimensions; elim;inaticr. of unnocessary information (noisv) from readout by
means of an indication register; separation of the dynallics of change of
indications.

Translation: The proposed transistorized wide pulse shaper utilizes the
effect of charge accumulation in FW junctions. The delrice contains a
saturated shaping stage with a transistor switch as a controlling leakage
resistance, and a matching emitter follower.~ To reduce the duration of
the trailing edge of the shaped pulses, the output of the emitter follower
is connected through a differential netwoek to the bast, of the switching
transistor.
