The structure of zirconium alloys in states of equilibrium and inequ~ilibrium is examiniod. The structure in the state of equilibrium , discussed in the fJ-rst part of the book, is analyzed from structural diagrams of binary andi.ternaxy systems on a zirco- nium base. In the second part general rules are given for:the formation of metastable phases in zirconium alloys, and also the.structure of alloys in inequilibrium state in concrete diagrams of binary and ternary alloys. A list of the investigated systems is presented. The distributions found for intensities at vavelengths longer than 6000 A show characteristic differences from the distributions at shortor wavelengths ---at TOOOOK the line c-mission is very weal-, and the principal contribution is from molecaar systems, one of the strongest being the Swan C2 syste!n. Abstract: The microstructural changes occurring in V`TJ5 (beta alloy) and VT9 (alpha plus beta alloy) upon high temperature theilnomeahanical -treat- ment were studied using the method of transmission electron microscopy. Particular attention was given to the influence of the duration of the pause between the end of deformation andhardening on the microstructure of the alloys. It was established that it is thecreation of 'a polygonized structure which is responsible for the favorable combination of strength and plastic characteristics of these alloys. It is shown that as the duration of the pause between the end of deformation and hardening is i6creased, the increase in plasticity and decrease in strength obs6rved results~~rimmrily from a thange in the phase ratio and-the dispersion'of the phases. 52 VDC 615.917 I-H. A synthetic method has been developed for the synthesis of.acid phenyl esters of 6-alkoxyvinylphosphonic acid by'reacting pl~enol with the anby- drides of 'these acids, It has, been' established that, during the reacti-on of anhydrides with substituted phenols.occasionally monoesters of alkoWvinylpyrophosphonic acid are forme ,d instead of.monoarylphosphonates. The studies made during the last 15-20 years from drifting4tations'and by air-expedi- tions have yielded much information on bottom, relief, formation and circu- lation of air and vater masses and the ice regime of the Arctic Ocein. The physicomechanical properties of ice of different ages have bellin studied and practical recommendations given on the design, and.power of engines for Ice- breakers and other -vessels. The microhardness was dete, rmined under 50-G. loads. The decrease in the hardness of chromium coatings on heating up to 1700C is not due to recrystallAzation (which occurs at.9000c)-but rather~to a.complex of phenomena related to hydrogen liberatiort,,stress relaxation, etc. The determination of the elastic modulus was based on changes-in the value of loads required to cause relative.deformation of the specim~ens before and after applicattion of coatings. The el;~stia modulus is practically independent of heat treatment and depends only on coating application con- ditions. The system is designed to provide bibliographic, doclimentary, analytical, and synthetic information,.as well.as key foreign informacion. The form and complexity of an information service for supervisarypersonnel of directory and planning agencies are discussed. The-need.19 sb6wn for setting up a special information service for:supervisory personnel within the framework of,the existing information.agency.- Further meansifor improving the infor- mation system for supervisory personnel-are suggested. 1/2 There are four bibliographic references; 2/2
