MEMORANDUM FOR THE RECORD
SUBJECT: Meeting GSA/C]:A Concerning 2430 E Street Complex
1. On 14 July 1982 a meeting was held at 2430 E Street,
South Building to discuss operating maintenance and custodial
services being provided to the Office of Technical Services
Those in attendance were:

John Alderson, GSA
Ted Leininger, GSA
Stanley Langfeld, GSA
Sonny Cook, GSA
2. Prior to the start of the meeting a tour of Central,
South and East Buildings was conducted. Several problem areas
were shown including norL-operating air conditioners, poorly
maintained bathrooms, broken toilet seats, water leaks in the
ceiling and water leaks from under buildings seeping into the
parking lot.
3. After a brief introduction by
discussion began on inadequate custodial service; inadequate
and/or lack of a preventive maintenance program and the need
to upgrade or replace building utility systems. The GSA
representatives in attendance agreed that problems existed and
still held to the position that it was their responsibility to
ensure the problems were! solved. Towards this end Mr. Alderson
said that areas of concern should be identified as major and
minor. Minor problems were to be handled by the State Building
Manager and major problems would be reviewed by Central Office
for accelerated funding. A meeting was set up with Mr. Sonny
Cook, State Building Manager and representatives of Logistics
Services Division and Office of Technical Services on
27 June 1982 to discuss the minor work requirements. Some
time during the week of 2 August 1982 Mr. Alderson and
Mr. Leininger will report back to CIA on the major funding
items.
