SUBJECT: Report of Actions on Behalf of the President
Since'my last report on October 5, I have taken action on your behalf on
the following:
1. In-migration of Workers from Mexico
Approved a memorandum to Labor Secretary Hodgson informing him the
President is opposed at this time to special arrangements to admit
Mexican workers to the U.S. as a relief measure, but that the
omnibus immigration bill now before the Congress may provide some
indirect relief. (#31694, September 27)
2. Procedures for the "Accidents" Agreement
Approved Under Secretaries Committee study on Implementing of Agreement
on Measures to reduce the Risk of the Outbreak of Nuclear War between
the USA and USSR. (#33163, September 29)
3. Message to David Ben Gurion on his 85th Birthday
Approved a Presidential letter of congratulations to David Ben Gurion
on his 85th birthday. (#33159, October 4)
4. Letter from AID Administrator Hannah
Approveda Presidential response to AID Administrator Hannah thanking
him for reporting on the significant progress AID has made in
implementing our new approach to foreign assistance. (#33007,
October 6)
