resuming air service to Cuba for the
time being. .This leaves only the
Czech, Soviet and Cuban airlines
serving Cuba at present.

told the Chinese that if forced to
make a choice between India and China,
Nepal would choose :India. For this
reason, Nepal will not. ask India to
withdraw 'it's observers from Tibetan
border checkpoints.

it be known that this winter, when
weather forces A halt in operations,
the VORR will put forth a new peace
proposal.

NOTES
A. Czechoslovakia True to form, the Czech regime has
decided to meet longstanding unhappiness over food
shortages by abolishing open market sale of agri-
cultural products from peasants' private plots. This
move, intended to lower prices, will almost certainly
decrease the supply of food as well.
B. British Guiana Public disorders are likely to break
out in the aftermath of the collapse earlier this week
of the independence talks in LOndon Jagan,and his
major opponent are both returning home with the declared
intention of stirring things up.
C. Brazil the
Soviet Ambassador who was drowned in Brazil last month
actually committed suicide. He is said to have been
summoned back to Moscow to explain why, having been
given a lot of money to help selected candidates win in
last month's state and congressional elections, he did
not manage better.
D. Communist China A reflection of the great weight
Peiping is giving to trying to solve its economic
problems is the new appointment of four politburo
members as vice-chairmen of Communist China's economic
planning commission. Before, only the chairman was of
such high rank. Even though comparatively rational,
conservative economic policy will be followed, "leap
forward" advocates are among those newly appointed to
head the planning commission.
