� The f101d Group u meeting lasted only three-quarters
of an hour; it broke up with the scatterino: of red carna-
tions on the spot where Tresca was killed.
The uCarlo Tresca Group" met in the evening at $ p.,m.
in the Rand School, New York City. About sixty ceople.�-
attended, including Vanni Irontana publicity director of
the Itallan-American Labor �Counc-ii,and Unberto.Gualtieri,
member of the n'ew Council of the r.a2]zini Society and
editor of Nazionitnite. The sneakers were H. R. Cantine,
editor of an it.lerican anarchist pai3er, Retort, and Felice
Guadagni of the staff of the'rrartello.
Cantine read a euloGy of Tresca.
Guadagni gave a history of Tresca's career. The
present meeting, he said, was a rite, not a commemoration;
the latter could not be held Until after the discovery of
the murderer of Tresca. Guadagni extolled Tresca's lork
for the emancipation of the working class. S2ea1in6, of
other ant.-Fosciats, he said that neither liberals no
Catholic liberals, such as Don Luigi urzo, held strong
enough ideas'
After the meeting a procesion went to the northwest
corner of Fifth Avenue and Fast �th Street and scattered red
carnations.
At neither meeting was reference made to the rival
group or its celebration,
