About the Job

As a Project Management Engineer within CIA’s Directorate of Science and Technology (DS&T) serving at the National Reconnaissance Office (NRO), you will apply your engineering or scientific expertise to design, acquire, and deliver new and innovative satellite systems in support of CIA’s mission to collect foreign intelligence.

DS&T Project Management Engineers combine their project management, systems engineering, and/or contract management skills with their engineering or scientific expertise to design, develop, and integrate technology solutions to meet the Nation’s most challenging overhead collection requirements. Project Management Engineers’ focus areas include acquiring and delivering satellite systems, developing unique ground data processing solutions, operation of satellites, and working with customers and stakeholders throughout the Intelligence Community and Department of Defense. Project Management Engineers lead teams to find new and innovative solutions to help CIA accomplish a mission that most think was impossible!

Minimum Qualifications

  • A bachelor’s degree in one of the following fields or related studies (or comparable work experience):
    • Aerospace engineering
    • Application development
    • Chemical engineering
    • Chemistry

    • Imagery science
    • Mathematics
    • Mechanical engineering
    • Optical engineering

    • Physical sciences

  • At least a 3.0 GPA on a 4-point scale
  • Ability to meet the minimum requirements for joining CIA, including U.S. citizenship and a background investigation
