About the Office Of Strategic Services Memorial

On the south wall of the Original Headquarters Building lobby is the Office of Strategic Services (OSS) Memorial. The OSS was the precursor to the CIA. This memorial is dedicated to the men and women who lost their lives while serving in the OSS during WWII. The memorial consists of a single star on the wall and a book that lists the names of the 116 OSS fallen.

The American flag, a book listing the names of fallen OSS officers encased in a display case, and a bronze-colored statue of Maj. Gen. William J. Donovan amidst a white wall with an inscription engraved into it.

The inscription reads: “In Honor of those members of the Office of Strategic Services who gave their lives in the service of their country.”
