On 31 May rumors were current, in Berlin that persons traveling to West Berlin from either the eastern zone or East Berlin, including residents of the East who work in West Berlin, will. in the future have the time of their departure from the East stamped. on their railroad. or S Rahn tickets when the tickets are purchased.. Upon their return. to a station in East Berlin or East Germany, the :ti.me of arrival and the name of thf~ traveler with the number of his identification document wi1.1 be stamped at the time when the ticket is surrendered. to the railroad authorities. It is reported that after 1 June special passes will be required for inhabi- tan.tq of East Berlin entering or leaving East Germany. Soviet personnel will need special orders, but it is not latown whether these will be the usual official order (komaa;dirovochnoe predpisanie) or some new form of documentation. On 1 June large :number of :soviet personnel were seen in East Berlin, some of them strolling about and some moving trough the city in trucks. Shopkeepers re-port that in the last few days= Berliners 50X1-HUM have shown a tendency -to stock up on chocolate, cocoa, soluble coffee, 50X1-HUM flour., and rice.
