CIA's Clandestine Services Histories of Civil Air Transport

Publication Details

Published 2011

The collection highlights some of the most closely guarded activities of the CIA. Covering one of the controversial operations in American history, these excerpts from the CIA’s Clandestine Services Histories of Civil Air Transport were written by Alfred T. Cox.

Mr. Cox became the President of CAT after its acquisition by the CIA. He guided the covert and commercial operations. As the name suggests, these histories are normally not released in any form to the public.

However, time and circumstances allow their release in concert with and commemoration of the 2011 Civil Air Transport Association Reunion. The booklet and DVD show the changes and impacts of Civil Air Transport (CAT)–predecessor to Air America–along with life and history of South-east Asia. There are two related collections: Stories of Sacrifice and Dedication: Civil Air Transport, Air America and the CIA and Air America: Upholding the Airmen’s Bond.
