The Last Days in Saigon

Conrad LaGueux was one of the last Americans to leave Saigon—a moment that marked the end of the Vietnam War. Serving as Deputy Chief of the CIA office in Saigon, he planned and implemented the evacuations of all Americans in the country, as well as many South Vietnamese.

Years later, Conrad and his wife were reunited with a South Vietnamese family he had saved. “My family is your husband’s ‘Schindler’s list,'” the daughter tearfully told Conrad’s wife. “We would have been dead if it had not been for your husband.”
