On Monday our nation will pause to salute the military heroes who throughout our history have given their lives to keep our country safe. In honoring their sacrifice, we remember that the freedoms we enjoy as Americans can never be taken for granted. They must be protected from new threats and challenges, and secured for future generations by patriots willing to risk everything on their nation’s behalf.
As we at CIA commemorate Memorial Day, we’re reminded of our own heroes who’ve made the ultimate sacrifice in service to our country. Next month, we’ll dedicate four new stars on our Memorial Wall to honor colleagues lost in the line of duty. Each one was a current or former member of the military who embodied the very best of our nation. Please keep them in your thoughts this weekend, along with all the members of our Agency family who across the decades have laid down their lives to defend America.
If you have the weekend off, I hope you’ll be able to relax and enjoy some time with friends and family. To those on duty over the holiday or stationed far from home, you have the gratitude of the entire senior leadership team. And as always, thank you to everyone—wherever you serve—for the outstanding work you do for our country each and every day.
