Art Details

Jeanne Vertefeuille Artwork

This artwork was created by CIA officer Jeanne Vertefeuille, who led the team that uncovered traitor Aldrich Ames in 1994.

In addition to being an intelligence officer, Vertefeuille was also an artist who participated in the Agency's annual art show. CIA Museum's collection holds two dozen of her watercolor paintings. The paintings are small, typically measuring about 5x7 inches.

The collection includes landscapes, street scenes, botanicals, and architectural features such as doors and columns. It also includes decorative elements like the Aztec mask shown here.
