Successful completion of the Berlin Tunnel (Operation GOLD), the creation of CIA officer Bill Harvey, allows tapping into Soviet cable lines in East Berlin. Because of UK intelligence officer George Blake, a Soviet spy in MI-6, the Soviets are aware of the project from its beginning.
