The Nixon Collection

To commemorate the 50th anniversary of President Richard M. Nixon’s February 1972 trip to the People’s Republic of China (PRC), CIA is releasing eight documents—three city guides, an atlas, and four leadership profiles—produced for President Nixon in preparation for the seven-day visit.

This trip, which occurred between 21 and 28 February 1972, was an important milestone toward the normalization of diplomatic relations between Washington and Beijing.
